Canucks Shoot, They Score!
Oct 28th, 2007
In case you have been in a cave, Roberto Luongo and the Canucks managed to kick some Capital butt, with a final score of 3-2. Yes, it is good to win, and Roberto himself said “I thought we skated well tonight and we played a good tight game defensively. Most of the shots for the first 50 minutes were on the perimeter, and we were keeping guys to the outside and taking the rebounds. It was easy for me to do my job and we got three goals early.”
For all that, the Canucks still have a way to go. Yes, they managed to shoot 26, but they were still out shot by the Capitals, who shot 28. Half of those 26 shots were shot by the defense and of the goals made, none were the result of overarching strategy, they were just taking advantage of ad-hoc opportunities. But heck, at this point in the game, I am happy for any win at all.
Keep shooting, Canucks. Keep shooting.
